How we check prices
Every price on this website shows the date we last checked it. We check every price every week, on the provider's own pricing page.

We check every week
Once a week we open each provider's own pricing page and compare it with the price we show. If the price is the same, we record the check; if it has changed, we record the new price. The date next to a price is the day of our latest check.
A price stays on the page
We never remove a price because a check is late. If we cannot read a provider's page for a while, the price keeps showing with the date of our last check. You can then judge for yourself how recent it is.
Currency and VAT
We show each price in the currency the provider uses on its own page, and we never convert it into another currency.
We also record whether the price includes VAT. The note "incl. VAT" means it does, and "VAT not stated" means the provider's page does not say. A price with neither note excludes VAT, so check what VAT applies where you live.
Promotions and renewal prices
Many providers charge less for the first months or the first term of a contract. When they do, we show the promotional price, how long it lasts and the price you pay after it, as the provider states them.
What a price covers
Unless the note under a price says otherwise, it is the standard price a new customer pays, with no reserved capacity and no negotiated deal. When a price needs a longer contract, such as a 24-month term, the note under it says so.
Each price keeps the unit it was checked in, such as an hour, a month, a million tokens or one image.
Hourly prices and their monthly cost
When a provider prices a plan by the hour, we also show roughly what it costs for a month. It appears in brackets right after the hourly price. Monthly costs for hourly prices assume the server runs all month (730 hours). A year has 8,760 hours, and a month is a twelfth of that.
The monthly figure comes from the same check as the hourly price, so it carries the same date. We round it: amounts under 10 to the cent, larger amounts to whole dollars, euros or pounds. If you run the server for only part of the month, or the provider caps its monthly charge, you pay less.
When you sort a table by price, and when we rank plans on price, hourly and monthly plans are compared by this monthly cost. Prices per million tokens or per image stay as they are.
When a plan is no longer offered
When a provider stops selling a plan, we mark it "No longer offered" with the date of the check that found this out. The plan stays on the provider's page, and our ranked tables no longer list it.
Offers for new customers
We check offers such as free credit or a trial every week as well, and each offer shows the date of its latest check. An offer can end without notice, so the provider's own page is what counts when you sign up.
We keep every check
We never overwrite an old check: every price we have recorded stays in our records with its date, so we can see how prices change over time.
If we get a price wrong
If a price on our website is wrong, we correct it and add an entry to our corrections log. You can tell us about a wrong price through our contact page.
