A dedicated GPU server by the month gives you a card, or several, for your use alone at a fixed price. It costs less than renting by the hour only when the card stays busy for most of the month.
Our price records list 17 monthly GPU servers from three providers we cover: GPU Mart, Unihost and Liquid Web. They range from one RTX 4090 to eight H100 cards, in the US and in the EU.
The specifications, terms and prices come from our weekly checks of each provider's own pages, the newest on 25 October 2026. The break-even charts are our calculation from those prices.

Monthly or hourly: where the line falls
An hourly server costs more the longer it runs. A monthly one costs the same whether the card works all month or sits idle. Where the two lines cross, both cost the same.
Below that point, rent by the hour and switch the server off between jobs. Above it, the monthly server is cheaper. The charts below draw both lines from our current price records.
A month is counted as 730 hours (8,760 hours in a year divided by 12).

GPU Mart's price is the monthly rate of a 24-month term paid in advance. Neither price states VAT.
A month is counted as 672 hours.

UpCloud stops charging after 672 hours a month. The monthly line leaves out Unihost's one-off set-up fee. Both prices exclude VAT.
The lines do not always cross. An hourly server with a monthly cap, such as UpCloud's, may never cost more than a monthly one; the second chart shows today's answer.
Count real working hours, not the hours the server is switched on. A card that waits for requests all night is idle, and an hourly server could have been off.

US buyers can choose from GPU Mart and Liquid Web; Unihost is the EU option, from one RTX 4090 to eight H100s.

Unihost's page for its Frankfurt server names the card only as H100. NVIDIA sells H100 versions with 80 and 94 GB, so ask which one before you order.

What to check before you order
- The term. GPU Mart's prices in our records are the monthly rate of a 24-month term, paid in advance; a shorter term costs more per month.
- Set-up fees. Two of Unihost's servers add a one-off set-up fee, shown under their prices below.
- The first month. Liquid Web discounts the first month, so the second bill is higher than the first.
- VAT. Unihost's prices exclude it; GPU Mart's and Liquid Web's pages, as we read them, do not say.
- Traffic. GPU Mart's single-card servers come with an unmetered 100 Mbps link; Unihost's include 10 to 30 TB a month, and Liquid Web's 10 TB outbound.
- Memory and disks. Main memory runs from 64 GB on Unihost's AZM-04 to 2 TB on its eight-H100 server.

Where the servers are
GPU Mart's servers stand in Dallas and Kansas City, and Liquid Web's in Michigan. Unihost's are in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Gdansk, which keeps data inside the EU.

Which to choose
- A model that answers your team all day: a single-card server sized to the model, from 24 GB upwards.
- Several models, or a 70B model at 8-bit: a server with two or more cards, or one H100 NVL or H200.
- Data that must stay in the EU: Unihost, the EU option among the monthly servers we cover.
- Not sure how busy the card will be: start by the hour and move to a monthly server once the hours add up.

Mistakes to avoid
Comparing a 24-month rate with a month-to-month price
Instead: Check the term under each price before you compare.
Forgetting the set-up fee and the second month
Instead: Add one-off fees, and check the price after any first-month discount.
Buying monthly for a card that sits idle
Instead: Below the break-even hours, an hourly server costs less.
Assuming every H100 has 80 GB
Instead: Ask which version the server has; the H100 NVL has 94 GB.

Is a dedicated GPU server cheaper than a GPU cloud?
Only when the card is busy for most of the month. The break-even charts above show where the lines cross at today's prices.
